20 Years of Committed Care to Pain Patients

Two decades of dedicated pain care, working alongside Chennai's leading hospitals. Our aim has always been simple: less pain, better function.

    Our Story

    A New Attire, Same Mission

Trident Pain Clinics began in 2007 as Back & Pain Centre at Apollo Clinic, GN Chetty Road, Chennai — one of the early dedicated pain medicine services in South India. The name has changed; the careful, consultant-led approach has not.

Since 2007 we have focused on careful assessment and evidence-led pain treatment, in clinic across Chennai and online across India.

What precision pain medicine means at Trident

Pain is personal. Similar symptoms can arise from different conditions, and the same condition can affect people differently. A scan is one part of the assessment; it must be considered alongside the history, examination and the patient’s experience.

    Our approach brings together:

    • Careful assessment: understanding the pain pattern, function, previous treatment and relevant clinical findings.
    • Considered treatment selection: choosing care according to clinical need, available evidence, patient preferences and practical circumstances.
    • Image guidance when appropriate: using ultrasound or fluoroscopy to support accurate targeting during selected procedures.
    • Planned follow-up: reviewing pain, function, treatment effects and progress towards the patient’s goals.

Precision also means recognising uncertainty, reassessing when needed and avoiding interventions that are unlikely to help. The aim is to offer the care that is appropriate for the individual.

    Our Philosophy
"I chose to build my practice through clinical excellence and the trust that follows it, rather than through personal promotion."

    — Dr K. Ravi Krishna

For much of my professional journey, I chose to let clinical work speak for itself.

I have always believed that, in medicine, the most important form of communication is the quality of care we provide—the knowledge we bring to a difficult problem, the decisions we make, the honesty with which we communicate, and the trust that develops over time.

I did not build my practice around personal promotion or advertising. I chose instead to invest in learning, clinical skill and the pursuit of better decisions for patients!

The world has changed, and healthcare has changed with it. Today, communication and digital presence have an important place in helping people find the care they need. I am not opposed to that change. I believe we should move forward with it.

But progress in communication should never replace progress in clinical practice.

At Trident, we want both to have their rightful place: clinical excellence at the centre, and responsible communication around it.

Because being known is not the same as being good at what you do.

And ultimately, it is the latter that matters most!

    Understanding Chronic Pain Patients

Patients with chronic pain often react sensitively to environmental factors like noise, light, odors, crowds, stress, and anxiety. Traditional hospital settings can exacerbate these triggers.

Satellite clinics provide quiet, soothing environments that minimize triggers. Treatments such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and graded exercise are delivered in a sensory-friendly manner.

Mindfulness and stress management integrated into care
Calming environment reduces anxiety and pain perception
Multidisciplinary team approach for comprehensive care
Less logistical challenges than large hospitals
